"Terra Nova" Canvas Prints

The inspiration for this piece comes from Genesis 1:9 "Then God said, 'Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so." This piece is meant to convey the moments when the water is receding away from the land.  The name "Terra Nova" is Latin for "New Land.' As an artist who can only attempt to replicate the world as it currently, I am continually draw back to wishing I could witness the process of creation and the concept of a virgin world. 

For the image itself I drew a lot of imagery from the way the Florida coastline looks after a hurricane has swept across blurring the land and sea together. Due to the use of metallic paint and iridescent medium it changes a lot in different lights and really glows throughout the day.
